Identification of Mazandaran Gilim motifs and its application in the design of women's office uniforms

Abstract

Purpose: This research was conducted with the aim of identifying and prioritizing the factors in the design of office uniforms for the employees of education departments in Mazandaran province with rug motifs.

Methodology: In order to determine the weight of specific qualitative coefficients, which is one of the most important parts of qualitative assessment, the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method was used in Expert Choice software. A researcher-made questionnaire and the opinions of 10 experts in this field were used to collect data. According to the subject and purpose, 3 main features and 9 sub-criteria are named 1. Imagery including simulation, abstractionism, symbolic style, visual motifs including shapes, concepts of shapes, shapes. and creating the illusion of movement including lines, rhythmic surface and color contrast were identified and selected.

Findings: The findings of the research showed that the priority of the main criteria from the highest value to the lowest value includes imagery, visual motifs and creating the illusion of movement. Also, the sub-criteria of symbolic style, shape concept, shape symbol, abstraction, lines, simulation, color contrast, shape reference and rhythmic levels were also prioritized from the highest value to the lowest value.

conclusion: The results of this research can be used in the design of office uniforms for employees of companies and organizations with traditional motifs, especially rugs, etc.
